Hockey Development

About

JCS Hockey Development, founded by Jacob Chan, is built on a progressive and highly focused approach to player development. With a primary emphasis on refining technical skills, especially skating and stickhandling, JCS sets high standards and uses some of the most challenging drills in hockey to accelerate player growth.

At the heart of the JCS is a belief that elite-level skills come from training to high standards. Every session is designed to push players beyond their comfort zones, using fast-paced, high-intensity drills to challenge each player's abilities. Skating development is a major focus, with drills targeting edge control, explosiveness, balance, and transition speed.

Equally central to JCS is stickhandling. Drills emphasize puck control at high speed, quick hands in tight spaces, and deception to beat defenders. Players are challenged to combine skating and stickhandling into fluid, game-relevant movements, improving their ability to make plays under pressure.

In short, JCS Hockey Development delivers results by holding players to a high technical standard and challenging them at every session. JCS is designed for those who are serious about elevating their game to the highest level.

Private skill lessons

JCS Private Training utilizes small groups to provide players with maximum attention and accelerate their improvements. JCS skill lessons are available in two main group sizes: up to 4 players or 6-8 players. These lessons are tailored to each group's specific needs to help players see continued improvement through each session.

We’ve been really impressed with Coach Jacob right from the first skate. He knows how to push our son in a way that challenges him but still keeps things positive and constructive. In just a couple of practices, we’ve already seen a noticeable improvement in his skating, confidence, and overall drive on the ice. We can’t wait to see how this season goes!

Skills with Jacob this summer had an immense impact on my sons skating. His stride, edgework, and mechanics took major leaps. This has increased his confidence both on the ice and outside. Absolutely the best summer so far. He asks for more!
